“For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall break forth into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." - Isaiah 55:12
As I write this blog I just finished speaking to our Mother's of Preschoolers (MOPS) on the above text in Isaiah. The thrust of the message was simply that the joy we are called to express in scripture is often not the reality in life. The context of Isaiah 55:12, however, is joy in the Lord's salvation. I tried to illustrate this by sharing pictures and stories of my mother. She endured all kinds of challenges and hardships, but through it all God has been gracious and faithful to her.
I love MOPS ministry and ask you to lift them up in prayer this week. Please pray that they would be encouraged by each other, that the Lord would bless and be gracious upon their families, and that their numbers (which is already at capacity) would continue to flourish and grow. I'm so thankful for them and delighted that Cross Creek has embraced them.
Please don't forget to RSVP for our Fall Festival via Facebook. For more details go to http://www.crosscreek.us/events/
Men, our bible study on Habakkuk begins tonight at 7 pm at the church. Please bring someone with you! I'm really looking forward to this time.
This Sunday I will be preaching us through the Lord's Supper in Mark's Gospel. See you then!
