Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:
May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
1 Peter 1:1-2 (ESV)
We give God thanks for his countless blessings. We had the joy of celebrating the covenant baptism of Kinsley Grace Patwald, and we get to do it again this Sunday for Rielle Ansley Koerner. In addition, in the next couple of weeks, we will be receiving new members, admitting our communicant's class to the Lord's Supper, and even baptizing a few of them. Through it all, may we praise God for his goodness and grace. May we also be ever-prayerful that the Lord would continue to use Cross Creek for his glory.
Speaking of our communicant's class, though we typically observe the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of the month, we will delay our December observance until our communicants can be admitted to the Table and partake with the entire church. What a great joy that day will be.
Please keep the Bartholomews in prayer. As I write this blog early Wednesday evening, they currently sit at Los Angeles International awaiting their flight to Brisbane. May they find opportunities to rest well in the midst of a long flight.
This Sunday we continue with our season of Advent. Karen Hill will lead us in the Advent reading.
Please mark your calendar for the Family Christmas Party, Saturday, December 12, 6:00-8:00 pm. Our Families will meet at the church to make Gingerbread houses together. The cost is $10 for a kit. Coco and cookies will be served. Please let Heather know if you are coming: email@example.com
Please lift up Keith in your prayers as he prepares for the preaching of the Word and administers the sacrament of baptism. I'll be moonlighting on the music team with my mandolin. Please pray for the team!
Blessings in Christ,
