29 Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” - Mark 10:29-31 (ESV)
Cross Creek is blessed and honored to be the setting where Keith Allen Snow will be ordained to the gospel ministry as Associate Pastor, this Saturday evening at 6 pm. This service, which is a formal commission of North Florida Presbytery, is an opportunity to celebrate with the Snow family. Keith has arrived to this point after many years of intense study and countless examinations. It will certainly be a great honor for me to preach from the above text as we give God all praise, honor, and glory. Some people have asked me if it is appropriate to bring cards or gifts for the occasion. Gifts, cards, and well-wishes are certainly appropriate. There will be dessert and coffee after the service. Some folks have also asked me about attire for the occasion. Business attire is common for ordination services (think of it as a wedding), but we would love to see you regardless.
One of things I long for Cross Creek is that we would be a praying church. There are times when people ask for prayer and it is sent to our officers and ministry leaders via email as Stop and Pray. If, however, you have particularly sensitive prayer requests that you prefer not go out to as many people, please feel free to email me directly at email@example.com and let me know how I can pray for you. Also in that email, please let me know if you would like me to share the prayer request with the other elders.
This Lord's Day we will dive into Mark 8:14-21. I hope you will join us.
