Allow me to begin this post by wishing all of our mothers and very happy and blessed upcoming Mother's Day. Mother's Day is this Sunday and we hope you will join us for worship.
Thanks to Keith Snow for preaching for me the last couple of weeks. I will be back in the pulpit the next two weeks but then will be doing a fair amount of traveling this summer. Some of my travels are business related and others for leisure, so Keith will be carrying much of the preaching load this summer.
Please keep Shane Fowler in your prayers as he will be hitting a very busy time of year. Youth group continues to meet on Wednesday evenings, High School Senior Graduation Sunday is May 31, and Costa Rica summer missions trip is June 9-16.
Our Vacation Bible School, Everest, is scheduled for June 22-26 from 9 am - 12 pm.
I have heard very encouraging reports from some of the ladies who went on the Women's Retreat this past weekend. It's great to hear they were refreshed in the Gospel and had time to spend together. May the Lord continue to grow our women's ministry for His glory.
A number of years ago a mother once encouraged me to never preach a "Mother's Day" sermon. She said, "The last thing mothers need is to hear a sermon on motherhood, womanhood, or wifehood. Instead, we need the gospel of Jesus Christ, pure and simple. We are sinful, broken people who need grace. If you really love us, you'll give us Jesus." Would you please pray for me? I want nothing but to preach Jesus this Sunday.
