My heart has been heavy this week with the news of the tragedy in Orlando, a city that was our home during seminary and is one of our family's favorite destinations. The chatter and debate in the wake of this tragedy has been endless, but let's not forget in the midst of it all to grieve the loss of human life through this evil act. Every single person is created by God in his image and is worthy of dignity and respect. May our hearts lament and long for God's kingdom to come and His will to be done "on earth as it is in heaven" (Matt. 6:10).
Praise God that the Costa Rica team has safely returned! I can't wait to hear their report during the worship service on Sunday. Please also keep the Kalfas in prayer as they continue to enjoy their time away.
Our VBS begins Monday! Pray that God would be at work this week to minister to our community through this special event.
This Sunday will be the final week in our preaching series on mercy ministry. We will look at Acts 2:42-47 and consider what it means to have a heart of "Mercy for the City".
See you Sunday!
