Weekly Update: July 7, 2016

Dear Family,

I hope you had an enjoyable Fourth of July holiday weekend. The weather of late has been dangerously hot with heat indices above 100F. Please be careful as you go about your day, particularly for the elderly in our church community.

Kayce Clark is in need of 2-3 volunteers who can assist during Fine Arts Camp. The dates are July 11-15 and July 18-22 and camp runs from 9 am - 12 pm. The main responsibilities will be to assist in directing the younger campers to various locations. Kayce has plenty of teachers but it is always good to have a few extra people around to assist. I will announce this again in worship this Sunday morning. Please help if you can. This is another great outreach to our community.

I know it's only early July, but it's not too late to remind the ladies of the Women's Fall Retreat. Please click the link for details or visit the Events page on the Cross Creek website. It should be a great time as always.

Please be sure to give the Leonard family a warm welcome after being in India for a couple of months. It will be so sweet to have them back!

I hope you have been enjoying our Summer Sermon Series on Jonah. Personally, I've been gripped by the study and we have only covered the first ten verses. This Sunday we will continue in our series by looking at Jonah 1:11-16, Then They Feared. I have to admit that Jonah is quickly becoming one of my favorite Old Testament books.

See you this Sunday.

Paul
