Weekly Update: August 9, 2016

Dear Family,

Our Saturday night service launch is one month away. Please pray that the Lord would draw people who long to be in a church that is faithful to the Gospel and devoted to being a loving, caring community. We have reached out to our community via social media and card mailings, but what we need most is your involvement. I'd like to encourage you to invite family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Also, please remember to get involved in ministries that directly affect worship: hospitality, children's ministry, sound and visuals, music. We will undoubtedly go through some rough patches as we navigated unchartered waters, but remember that this is for Christ's glory. Please be patient with your pastor, officers, church staff, and ministry leaders. We are all working together.

Ladies, I am thrilled to hear that the sign-up for the Women's Retreat has been very energetic. Mary Beth McGreevy is a noted speaker at women's events. She has also been involved at the denominational level at General Assembly. I would love to sit in and be refreshed in the Gospel with you, but I don't want to compromise the "sisterhood mojo" in any way. So, instead, I will be meeting with a group of ladies for lunch shortly after the retreat to gain your insight and recommendations for further women's ministry ideas. I love hearing your thoughts and am so excited you have this opportunity.

This Sunday in worship we will have the honor of hearing our very own Shane Fowler preach! Shane is a candidate under care of North Florida Presbytery and part of that process is that he do some preaching. Please keep him in your prayers as he studies and prepares. Stepping into the pulpit is an awesome responsibility and Shane is feeling every bit of it...and that's a good thing.

In Christ alone,

Paul
