Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ, To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 1:1-7 ESV
What a weekend! The start of a new sermon series on Romans, the launch of a second service, the college ministry testimony, the fellowship after worship, the bounce house and snow cones, and a new season of adult education and life groups. This weekend was energizing in so many ways, but ultimately an incredible display of God's grace upon Cross Creek. Below are a couple of photos, thanks to Keith Snow, that have been posted to the Cross Creek Facebook page.
Many thanks to Robert Wagner and those who assisted him in constructing our new welcome desk and coffee bar. What a much needed addition to our hospitality ministry. Also, Keith Snow and Heather Coggins have teamed together to implement an electronic check-in system for children's ministry. We hope this will expedite the process of checking-in the kids while maintaining a high level of security.
Thanks to John Newsom and Trevor Neikirk for sharing what God has been doing in our college ministry. Their testimony should serve as encouragement to all of us of how the Spirit works in our lives. Let me also add that Craig Williford has been doing an amazing job leading our music ministry. I have received so many unsolicited compliments of Craig's work. I share them with him when I can, but it's always best to encourage him yourself.
Please be in prayer for our ladies as they enjoy their retreat this Friday night and Saturday. Talk about a ministry that is growing and thriving. Thanks to those leading this ministry. Your efforts in bible study and fellowship is sweet indeed. Sometime after the retreat, I will be hosting a group of ladies at my home for dinner to gain their thoughts and insight into how we can continue to grow this ministry. I can't wait to meet and pray with you!
I can't wait to worship with you this weekend!
