23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. - 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ESV
We will gather this weekend for worship and marvel at the grace God has lavished on His people. The Lord's Supper, which Cross Creek observes the first weekend of each month, is a gathering at the Table of those who profess Christ as Lord and Savior and proclaim His death until His return. Please prepare yourself for this Sacrament by praying, thinking about the grace of God, and forgiving one another. May we all come to the Table with a deep, profound gratitude for the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf.
Along with the Supper, you will have the opportunity to give to the Mercy Fund. This Diaconal ministry is intended to offer mercy, both to church members as well as those in the community. Please consider giving to this ministry above your tithe. We want to be a generous church because God has been most generous with us.
On Sunday, October 23, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm we will be hosting Cross Creek's Fall Festival. There will be food trucks, trunk or treat, a costume contest, game and prizes, and a chili cook-off. This is a fantastic way to serve the community. When we did this event last year we had over 400 people attend. It's a great time and a great way to serve our neighbors. Please plan on attending and getting involved in the various areas of need.
See you this weekend! I can't wait for worship!
