Baptism & Lord’s Supper

Baptism: A New Life & Family

Baptism is a tremendous blessing and an important first step of obedience for new followers of Jesus. Here is the typical process to be baptized at Cross Creek Church:

1. Please read the information in this packet carefully. If the person being considered for baptism is an infant, be sure to read the section entitled “Infant Baptism at Cross Creek Church.”

2. If, after reading this packet, you:

  • want to be baptized, please email our pastor at craig@crosscreek.us

  • are unsure about being baptized and would like to discuss your situation with somebody, please contact us at elders@crosscreek.us

3. Soon after completing an email, you will get a call from a pastor or elder. This phone call is to answer any questions you may have, address any potential concerns we may have, and to prepare you for what to expect at your baptism. This call is not an oral theological exam, so don’t be nervous. If the person requesting baptism is a child or teenager, we will likely request to meet with them in person.

4. Baptism. Invite as many family and friends as you can—people are often very open to coming. If you want to share your story with the church family, we’ll give you that opportunity. If you’d prefer not to share, that’s OK too.

The Lord’s Supper: Real Fellowship

In many ways, the Lord’s Supper is the summit of Christian faith and worship. In this simple remembrance, Christ is present with us, feeds our faith, and builds us up in endurance, hope, and joy. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month.

  • What is required? To partake in communion, you must have been baptized into a Gospel-believing church & be in good standing with your church.

  • What about infants and children? Infants may not take the elements of the Lord’s Supper. Children & teenagers must first attend a communicant's class and publicly affirm their faith before they can partake in the meal.

  • How do I sign my child or teenager up for the communicant class? Please email our elders at elders@crosscreek.us to be added to the next communicant class this spring.
